Officials say the Toyota Prado—prized for its reliability, luxury, and strong resale market—is being targeted more frequently by thieves using advanced technology such as electronic hacking and signal-blocking devices. Several theft cases have recently been documented in major urban centers, including Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kisumu.

Security expert Joseph Musyoka noted:

“Criminals often target the Toyota Prado because of its high demand and strong resale value, both locally and abroad.
